And How We Do It

The congregation of St. Andrew’s works actively to support our local, national and world   community. Groups and individuals, young and older contribute to the many projects and activities that help to build healthy and welcoming communities beyond the church doors.

Here are just a few of the responses to assistance that St. Andrew’s provides:

Action Réfugiés Montréal – Paul Clarke, Executive Director
“Our Sponsorship Program has welcomed almost 200 people this year. Many were Syrian but there were also refugees from Eritrea, Afghanistan and the Democratic Republic of Congo. We submitted files for another 200 refugees. … Your gift helps us to continue our work protecting refugees.”

Children’s Aid Society – Tabitha Zila, Christmas Program Coordinator
“Your generosity and caring spirit touched the hearts of all involved, especially the grateful recipient families.
As volunteers presented Mom with a hamper, she began to cry. She happily told the volunteers that ‘this is going to be the best Christmas ever!’
Parents of a young child were very happy to receive diapers, food and gifts for the holiday season. ”

Beendigen Native Women’s Crisis Home & Counselling Services
“It’s people like you that make a huge difference to our Crisis Home and Wakaigin Housing clients’ lives! Thanks you.”

Faye Peterson House – Debbie Zweep, Executive Director
“I would like to extend a heart felt thank you for the donation of clothing, mitts, toiletries, etc.
Your contribution to the shelter not only helps to provide for the women and children we serve, it also reminds us people in our community care.”

Lifewater Canada – Jim Gehrels, President
“Your gift will help save the lives of children, enable teenage girls to attend school, and improve the health of all who drink safe water from their new well. What a wonderful, practical way to share with those in need!”

Underground Gym – Peter and the Kids
“Thanks to all for believing in our kids!”
