At St. Andrew’s, we believe in fostering a rich spiritual life, supporting physical health, and providing a variety of opportunities for fellowship and friendship.
Recreation and fellowship at St. Andrew’s come in many forms. The following outline just a few of the ways in which St. Andrew’s engages with our wider community. As well, please take a look at some of the exciting special events we have lined up, all of which are open to everyone!
Fun & Fitness
In keeping with the goal of maintaining an active physical and social life, women have the opportunity to attend the exercise program that meets once a week. The Fun and Fitness group offers whole body workouts and relaxing stretches for women of all ages. You need bring only a good pair of running shoes and a bottle of water (and a friend or two if you like!)
Bible Study
Sessional Bible and book study encourages open dialogue and opportunities for adults to grow in their faith. Bible study usually runs twice a year – once in the fall, and once in the spring. Other one-off book studies also occur at various times throughout the year. These studies are open to everyone. Please contact the church office if you’d like more information on when the next one will begin.
Lunch with a Difference
Once a month, people who usually eat alone gather for fine food, fellowship, fun, and of course, candy. The meal, along with entertainment, health information, and blood pressure clinic, is provided by a great group of enthusiastic volunteers committed to making each lunch a special event. This event with a social focus is open to members of the church, and the wider community alike.
Prayer Chain
The prayer chain is a dedicated group of church members who are available to pray on behalf of a fellow parishioner. Any member of the congregation who would like the support and comfort of prayer can activate the prayer chain by calling the church office.
Prayer Shawl Ministry

The Prayer Shawl Ministry began as a way to care for those who are ill, grieving or would just feel better having one of the cozy and comforting shawls around their shoulders. The dedicated group of knitters creates beautiful shawls in a variety of styles and colours. If you are interested in obtaining a shawl for yourself, or someone else in your like who may need one, please contact the church office.
Summer Camp
St. Andrew’s has a long history of participating in Pres-B-Camp, which is an awesome opportunity for kids to expand their social circle, enjoy and learn from nature and committed counselors, and participate in sports, music, crafts, games, and bible study. Camp has it all for kids from the congregation and beyond! Volunteer opportunities are also available for teens and adults. Camp is generally held every July at Camp Duncan on Loon Lake. Registration is required. Keep an eye on our website for more information.
